Nyerere National Park, formerly part of the Selous Game Reserve, is one of Africa’s largest protected wilderness areas and one of Tanzania’s most remote safari destinations.

The park is defined by the mighty Rufiji River and its network of channels, lagoons, and wetlands that support hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an extraordinary variety of birdlife.

Unlike more crowded safari circuits, Nyerere offers privacy, exclusivity, and a genuine sense of wilderness where wildlife encounters feel intimate and uninterrupted.
